Justin: Hello, everyone,

and welcome to RBL Talk.

4

:

On today's show, we have some club news.

5

:

We recap the 2 1 defeat to Mainz in the

Bundesliga that was successfully predicted

6

:

by the podcast in the previous episode.

7

:

Our preview matchday 25 in the

Bundesliga against SC Freiburg.

8

:

We will also have player watch

and a predictions analysis.

9

:

And also in the RBL talk segment,

your listener, input on the show.

10

:

In club news in this episode, Marco

Rosa comments on lethargic RB Leipzig.

11

:

We lost energy.

12

:

RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose's

concerns that his team might be tiring

13

:

out manifested in a grim reality

on Saturday afternoon in Mainz.

14

:

The German Red Bulls dropped

a crucial Bundesliga fixture

15

:

to European rivals Mainz 05.

16

:

The match very much served

as a European six pointer.

17

:

Matters couldn't have gotten worse

for Rose's side, who looked very

18

:

lethargic after Chavi Simmons

opened the scoring in the minute

19

:

before Mainz went on to win 2 1.

20

:

Mainz and Leipzig entered the contest

deadlocked on 38 league points.

21

:

The result now sees Mines open

up a three point gap and move

22

:

into fourth place, while Rose's

Saxons remain mirrored in sixth.

23

:

Wolfsburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach

and Dortmund, all winners on Saturday,

24

:

nip at Leipzig's heels in the race

for the second Europa League place.

25

:

Stuttgart too are within

easy striking distance.

26

:

Rose found himself unable to rest as

many players as he might have liked.

27

:

Emoto Hidara, for Kevin Campbell,

served as the lone outfield change.

28

:

The team effectively ran out

of ideas after the early goals.

29

:

Matters could have been much

worse, still as minds played.

30

:

Piled on toward the end, Rose lamented

the fact that a thin squad appreciated him

31

:

from making personal changes on the half.

32

:

On the bench today, attacking

options were slim, Rose noted.

33

:

After a good opening 10

minutes, we lost energy.

34

:

Little by little, you could tell at

the end of the first half that minds

35

:

were getting into the game better.

36

:

We sensed that we would

need changes today.

37

:

Now it's not time to recharge

and engage in a razor sharp

38

:

training week, Rose concluded.

39

:

Three coaches in Leipzig's

shortlist for next season.

40

:

Despite a home defeat at the

hands of a club he used to play

41

:

for, Marco Rose will most likely

finish the season with RB Leipzig.

42

:

However, the club is already

preparing for next season.

43

:

RB Leipzig face another

slump in the Bundesliga.

44

:

With the 2 1 defeat to Mainz,

as a Bo Henriksen side now

45

:

jumped 2 4th in the standings.

46

:

For now, qualifying for the DFB Pokal

semi final would give Marco Rosa the

47

:

chance to end the season in the dugout.

48

:

However Their working relationship

is seeing its final days after

49

:

an underwhelming season in both

Bundesliga and Champions League.

50

:

Sky now reports that there are

already three names on Leipzig's

51

:

shortlist for replacement.

52

:

While his name was first linked with

the club a few months ago, Eric Ten

53

:

Hag is surprisingly not on the list.

54

:

Meanwhile, Stuttgart's Sebastian

Honess is top of their wishlist, as

55

:

the news was also confirmed by Kickr.

56

:

There is a release clause

of around 8 million euro in

57

:

Honess's contract at Stuttgart.

58

:

On Friday the 42 year old played down

Leipzig's interest as he always maintains

59

:

constant contact with Stuttgart.

60

:

Stuttgart and Leipzig could cross

paths in today's Pokal final semi draw.

61

:

According to Sky, Oliver

Glasner is another name

62

:

currently discussed at Leipzig.

63

:

The Europa League winning coach is

enjoying his time with Crystal Palace

64

:

after a difficult start to the season.

65

:

Marcel Schaffer's involvement could

certainly help Leipzig's case.

66

:

But it'll take a huge effort

to bring back the 50 year old

67

:

Austrian back to the Bundesliga.

68

:

Roger Schmidt, who has been without a

club since August, rounds up the list.

69

:

Due to his previous spell in RB Salzburg,

Schmidt looks to be the perfect candidate

70

:

for the required RB principals, as

Leipzig aim for a fresh start next season.

71

:

Leipzig boss refuses to commit

on under fire Rosa's future

72

:

after latest disappointment.

73

:

After another disappointing performance

and result for RB Leipzig, Marcel Schaffer

74

:

didn't want to comment on the growing

pressure on head coach Marco Rosa.

75

:

After an engaging 1 0 win over Wolfsburg

in the DFB Pokal in midweek, RB

76

:

Leipzig was sent crashing back down

to earth with a 1 2 defeat at home to

77

:

Mainz in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

78

:

The defeat puts further pressure on the

shoulders of RB Leipzig coach Marco Rosa.

79

:

On previous occasions, the 48

year old has been backed by his

80

:

superiors to remain in charge.

81

:

This time, however, Leipzig's

managing director for sport,

82

:

Marcel Schaffer, wouldn't comment.

83

:

One interpretation is that Schaffer

didn't want to back Rose without

84

:

consulting Red Bull management.

85

:

After all, it is not just Schaffer

who decides on coaching matters,

86

:

but also the likes of Supervisory

Board Chairman Oliver Mintzlaff and

87

:

Head of Global Soccer Jurgen Klopp.

88

:

Rose himself felt his team lacked energy.

89

:

There were two moments where we

simply didn't defend well enough.

90

:

We didn't play with the kind

of energy that we need to.

91

:

We didn't put enough pressure

on them when they had possession

92

:

and didn't chase back enough.

93

:

Rose said we more or less invited

them onto us and didn't work hard

94

:

enough at either end of the pitch.

95

:

We didn't turn up in the

period, which decided the game.

96

:

One thing is certain, with Leipzig

having won just one of their last eight

97

:

Bundesliga games, the upcoming clash with

Freiburg will be crucial, as well with the

98

:

following match against Borussia Dortmund.

99

:

And final piece of club news for

this episode is the cup draw.

100

:

Leverkusen play third tier Bayerfeld

and Leipzig away at Stuttgart.

101

:

Cup favourites Bayer Leverkusen

will be away at third tier club

102

:

Armenia Bayerfeld in the last four.

103

:

Meanwhile RB Leipzig's under

fire coach Marco Rosa will face

104

:

a tricky trip to VfB Stuttgart.

105

:

As Sebastian Honess side

Get another home time.

106

:

Three leaguers at fifth place side

knocked out three Bundesliga clubs in

107

:

their historic run in the cup semifinal.

108

:

Mitch Kanat, who is younger than Xabi

Alonso, will be hoping to secure a

109

:

first POCAL final for Bayer Field.

110

:

Recent two time champions

Leipzig lost in both of their

111

:

last two trips to the MHP arena.

112

:

The Swabians last won the cup in 1996

97 when Krasimir Balikov, Freddy Bobich

113

:

and Gervain Eber were in their ranks.

114

:

That's all for the club

news on this episode.

115

:

As always, you can find all RBL Library

Club news from credible sources all around

116

:

the internet on the homepage at rbltalk.

117

:

com.

118

:

Now to preview the game against minds,

with the good, the bad and the ugly.

119

:

In these cases it's always hard to find

some things that are good, because the

120

:

brain always thinks of the negative,

but we do have some good things to say.

121

:

I only committed 8 fouls,

mines committed 15.

122

:

More shots inside the

box, with 10 out of 13.

123

:

Only offside once, only one yellow

card, and 27 touches in the mines box.

124

:

Mines also had the same, not

bad, but it could be better.

125

:

Now for the bad.

126

:

We look lost, out of position

often, no shape in our formation.

127

:

We miss two big chances.

128

:

Only 4 of 13 shots were on target.

129

:

That's just 30.

130

:

76%.

131

:

Substitutions were poor

after going down 2 1.

132

:

Taking off for Penda.

133

:

him out wide to the right, player 3

4 3 flat, Chavi on the left, Sesko in

134

:

the middle and Appender on the right

out wide and you keep the midfield

135

:

4 the same along with the back 3.

136

:

You can make changes in the middle and the

back line but you don't take Appender off.

137

:

Yes, he's playing poorly for the

output but he has that pace and can

138

:

cause defenders and defences trouble

and cause opportunities to arise by

139

:

putting defenders under pressure.

140

:

Too many passes in our own

half, 212 of 518 were in our own

141

:

half, 191 in the mine's half.

142

:

Poor on the contest, we lost the duels.

143

:

53 to 65, ground at 44 percent

success rate and aerial at

144

:

47 percent success rate.

145

:

The keeper only made one save.

146

:

Why did van der Voort get dropped?

147

:

When he was close to, if not

best on ground in the DFB

148

:

Pokal, just a few days before.

149

:

And you can't say team

management for fatigue.

150

:

He is barely played.

151

:

Pathetic squad rate selections

and rotations by Marco Rosa.

152

:

Finally, poor distribution.

153

:

Only 28 percent accurate crosses, total of

5, 39 percent accurate long balls, total

154

:

of 19, and 78 percent of regular passes.

155

:

You want around at least 82

percent for just regular passing.

156

:

And now for the ugly.

157

:

Marco Rose's tactics.

158

:

The club is going backwards, and yes,

it's going to be hard to find a long

159

:

term replacement before season's end.

160

:

But if we don't get an interim coach,

we won't play European football,

161

:

especially if we lose and drop

points with our next five games.

162

:

That being said, the club has said

they plan on a fresh start next

163

:

season, whether that means with

Marco Rosa or not, time will tell.

164

:

Now Marco Rosa is not the sole problem

of the problems that we currently have.

165

:

There is some management issues above him.

166

:

There is squad issues, which some as

partly to blame for Marco Rosa, such

167

:

as morale and possibly squad depth.

168

:

However, the latter is actually more

of a management issue as they're

169

:

the ones that control the signings.

170

:

Three things we learned.

171

:

V mines number one.

172

:

Many local fans are deluded by just

how bad we are under Marco Rosa,

173

:

chanting and accepting mediocrity.

174

:

Maybe we should become the Arnsberg

of the league, finish lower end to mid

175

:

table each year, and they'll be happy

as long as Marco Rosa is the manager.

176

:

Number two.

177

:

We are now in a downward spiral.

178

:

How far will we go come season's end?

179

:

Don't expect anything

big until next season.

180

:

But the season is done.

181

:

And number three Squad

depth isn't good enough.

182

:

Yes, I've been critical of

Marco Rosa, and rightfully so.

183

:

However, we also have to admit, the

squad and players are good enough.

184

:

Players are playing for themselves,

don't care about the club, and are only

185

:

going out there to get paid it seems.

186

:

Our leadership group also needs to

show some guts, and so does Marco Rosa.

187

:

Be honest about the internal problems,

and the squad, and what is lacking.

188

:

Those that can see, know what I'm talking

about, and if you don't, I hope you'll

189

:

be enlightened sooner rather than later.

190

:

As we go into the detailed summary and

recap of the Mines game, we will have

191

:

a look at the player watch players.

192

:

And they were David Raum for RBL,

and for Mines was Robin Zentner.

193

:

David played the full 90 minutes, had

89 touches, attempted 37 of 49 passes

194

:

at an accuracy of 76%, attempted 11

passes, only 3 accurate, attempted 6

195

:

long balls, only 1 came off, attempted

1 dribble, and it didn't come off.

196

:

was in six ground duels, he won four

of them, and he was also in three

197

:

aerial duels, which he won two.

198

:

Lost possession 25 times, was

fouled once, made two clearances,

199

:

and made three tackles.

200

:

According to the OneFootball

app, Raumi was rated a 5.

201

:

0, and I would rate him a 5.

202

:

5, as he lost possession 25 times,

which didn't help the game plan.

203

:

Robin Zenner, who was the mine's

goalkeeper, played the full 90 minutes,

204

:

had 48 touches, made two saves, one

higher claim, made 27 of 41 passes at 66%.

205

:

Most of the long balls of

the 27, 26 of them were long

206

:

balls, and only 12 came off.

207

:

According to the one football

app, he was rated a 6.1

208

:

and I would rate him a 6.8.

209

:

Mainz completed an important comeback

against European rivals RB Leipzig

210

:

to prevail 2 1 and climb up into

4th spot in the Bundesliga as they

211

:

continue their quest for a maiden

UEFA Champions League qualification.

212

:

A whopping 30 points separated these

two sides last season, but they

213

:

came into this clash with only goal

difference keeping Leipzig below Mainz.

214

:

The Red Bulls were keen for that

to remain the case come full time.

215

:

Though, and started in lightning quick

fashion, not even a minute was on the

216

:

clock when the host took the lead,

with Chavis Simmons steering home from

217

:

close range after Amadou Haidara's

initial effort was sensationally

218

:

blocked six yards from goal.

219

:

The Malian had another chance to get

on the score sheet soon after, but this

220

:

time he could only fire wide when he

ought to have doubled their advantage.

221

:

It was largely an onslaught

towards the mine's goal in the

222

:

first half, as the visitors spent

most of their time defending.

223

:

They let their standard slip for a

moment midway through the half and were

224

:

almost punished, but Benjamin Sesko's

effort flew inches wide of the target.

225

:

Mines could surely only improve

after the break, and that proved

226

:

to be true within 10 minutes of the

restart when the visitors drew level.

227

:

Paul Neubel was the provider, working

his way to the byline before cutting the

228

:

ball back for Nadim Amiri to sweep home.

229

:

Mines tales were firmly up by that

point and they came close to moving

230

:

ahead just moments later when Li

Jiang Song headed narrowly over.

231

:

Lobzig didn't heed that warning and soon

found themselves behind for the first time

232

:

on the afternoon when equalizing scorer

Amiri was again involved, threading the

233

:

ball through for Jonathan Burkhardt, who

Swivelled in the area and saw his left

234

:

foot effort nestle into the far corner.

235

:

Amira was proving to be the thorn in the

hosts side and he could have wrapped up

236

:

the game up 15 minutes later from time

but his effort crashed back off the post.

237

:

That failure to put the game to

bed, set up a nerving ending for the

238

:

visitors but they defended admirably.

239

:

to see out a third successful league

win and open up a nice gap over a rival.

240

:

Leipzig meanwhile now have to work

to do, to close the gap to the top

241

:

four, leaving under pressure boss

Marco Rosa under even more scrutiny.

242

:

Now let's talk those three goals.

243

:

The first goal was a goal for

RBL in the first minute of play.

244

:

The build up play started with a recovery

from Chad Bishabu from a poor throwing

245

:

from Mainz on the right hand side as the

ball missed everyone and went centrally.

246

:

Bishabu passed directly in front of him

to Amadou Haidara in the center circle.

247

:

His forward pass was to Benjamin Sesko.

248

:

Just slightly in front of him.

249

:

Sesuke then turned and dribbled towards

goal, passing once in the final third.

250

:

His pass went into the box to Lewis

Appenda, attempting to square the ball

251

:

towards the penalty spot as he was

running towards the byline of the goals.

252

:

Amadou Haidara met the ball and

attempted to shoot at goal, got a fresh

253

:

airy and missed everything which was

fortunate as it fell for Chavi Simmons

254

:

who made a right footed shot from very

close range to the top left corner.

255

:

This goal looked messy but boy

was it effective and just took 15

256

:

seconds from start of play to finish.

257

:

The second goal and the first goal

for mine's build up play started

258

:

as Chavi Simmons took on Moritz

Jens and lost his challenge.

259

:

The second goal and first goal for

Mainz build up play started as Xavi

260

:

Simmonds took on Moritz Jens and lost.

261

:

As his challenge was successful, Jens

couldn't control the ball after his

262

:

challenge, as the ball spilled free

with a recovery from Jay Lee Sung.

263

:

He ran towards the left flank for Mainz.

264

:

He passed through Philip Mai as three

RBL players were chasing him, Arthur

265

:

Vermin, Amadou Hira, and Ra Baku.

266

:

He managed to pass centrally between all

three of them to Nadiem Amir, who switched

267

:

the play to the right with a pass to Paul

Bel, who passed back to Amir centrally

268

:

with his pass heading into the box to

Jonathan Burkhart, who did a lovely.

269

:

little first time flick pass to Paul

Neubuhl who took a shot which was blocked

270

:

and parried by Peter Galacci with his legs

from his near post, the right goal post.

271

:

Unfortunately for him and for

the RBL the ball went centrally

272

:

where a lot of the players were.

273

:

Gattruda cleared the ball not very far as

Amadou Haidara had to recover the ball.

274

:

He then lost the ball with a quick

chain of Keishu Sano, Anthony Kaki,

275

:

Paul Nibble, linking up towards the left

side of the pitch with a pass by Nibble

276

:

getting a deflection of Willie Orban

and Nadim Amiri bearing home the finish

277

:

with a right footed shot from the centre

of the box to the centre of the goal.

278

:

Now how could we have prevented this one?

279

:

The simplistic answer is don't

lose the ball in a dangerous area.

280

:

Not even being able to get the

ball out of your defensive third.

281

:

Next, we had Gertruda, Bishoebu

ball watching, and trying to

282

:

run towards goal for no reason.

283

:

Galachi is protecting the near post.

284

:

At this stage, man mark,

or use zonal defense.

285

:

Don't just be drawn to

the ball because of this.

286

:

Gatruda, Bishabu, and Raidou

Baku get caught out here.

287

:

These three players need to be better

at their defensive positioning, as

288

:

the eventual goal scorer gets a clear

hit at it with nobody around him.

289

:

He would have had enough

time before he put it in.

290

:

His foot through it and be put

under pressure if he decided not

291

:

to take a first time shot a goal

292

:

The third and final goal of the

game, and second for Mines, came six

293

:

minutes later, in the 58th minute.

294

:

The build up play for Mines started from

a free kick, as Amadou Haidara gave away

295

:

a cheap free by misplacing his foot and

tripping up Nadim Amiri accidentally.

296

:

They moved the dead ball to the

right, and tried attacking down

297

:

there after a clearance from Bishebu.

298

:

The ball went back to Mines, and they

moved the play from right to left.

299

:

Center down the left side and back

into the center with the final pass

300

:

into the box coming from Nadeem Amiri

to Mainz captain Jonathan Burkhardt,

301

:

who then took a left footed shot from

the left side of the box to where

302

:

Peter Galacci was standing in the center

of the goal, although off balance,

303

:

it easily went past Peter Galacci.

304

:

Now how could we have prevented this one?

305

:

It's very hard to defend

against one touch passing.

306

:

Burkhardt nutmegs Chad Peshabu, and

he could've and probably should've

307

:

put a challenge in, but Peter

Galacci just fell to the floor like

308

:

a sack of potatoes, a very poor

attempt at a save from, apparently,

309

:

the Bundesliga's best goalkeeper.

310

:

Also, in the build up play, Aja

Vermeeren needed to put in a better

311

:

challenge on the assister Amiri.

312

:

I would have been more happy

giving away a foul there, and

313

:

being able to defend a free kick.

314

:

Instead, Arthur Vermeeren decides to go

for the challenge, and then, by the looks

315

:

of things, pulls out halfway through.

316

:

The best players for RBL were

Chubby Simmons, who created the

317

:

most chances, four in the match.

318

:

And Arthur Vermeeren, who was the most

accurate passer to play 45 minutes

319

:

or more, with an accuracy of 93%.

320

:

The best players for Mines were Naidim

Amiri, who completed the most passes

321

:

of the match with a 65, Jonathan

Burkhardt, Jae Song Lee, Anthony

322

:

Akaki, Andreas Hansa Olsson, Moritz

Jens who had the most tackles in the

323

:

match with five and Kaishu Sano who won

the most duels in the match with 10.

324

:

That's all for the

review of the Minds game.

325

:

Now onto suspensions and

an injury list update.

326

:

Antonio Nusa, with a knee injury.

327

:

His estimated return date is late March.

328

:

Osano Drago, hamstring injury.

329

:

His estimated return date is mid April.

330

:

Xavier Schlager, knee injury.

331

:

His estimated return date is May 2025.

332

:

And Benjamin Henricks,

Achilles tendon injury.

333

:

Estimated return date, end of season.

334

:

To preview the SC Freiburg game in

the Bundesliga, Freiburg are on a

335

:

five game run of not having lost a

game since January, when they got

336

:

beaten by Bayern Munich 2 1, with

wins over Bochum, Heidenheim, St.

337

:

Pauli, Wörterbremen, and most

recently a draw against Arnsburg.

338

:

There are questions around injured

players, Daniel Kofi Kairer, Manuel Gaudet

339

:

and Max Rosenfelder, with the latter a

possibility to play against Ayrton Bullen.

340

:

RBL on the other hand, already

missing four players, with questions

341

:

around Christoph Baumgartner,

who is suffering a small illness.

342

:

Most recently, RBL have been able to score

at least three goals against Freiburg,

343

:

and the history between the two is

pretty even in Freiburg, as RBL have won

344

:

five, Freiburg won four, and two draws

being played out in the eleven games.

345

:

RBL are going to want to dust themselves

off and show the Bundesliga that they

346

:

are still a top four candidate, as right

now, to the Bundesliga community and

347

:

RBL fans, we are not a top four side.

348

:

Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional

and can't grasp the actual positioning

349

:

of the club and where we're currently at.

350

:

I hate to say it, but we are

not currently a top four side.

351

:

Some interesting match facts leading

into this game are, Freiburg are ranked

352

:

third at home so far this season.

353

:

Freiburg have scored nine goals

in their last five matches.

354

:

Freiburg have won all four

times against RBL at home.

355

:

RBL have scored 6 goals

in their last 5 matches.

356

:

And RBL haven't lost to Freiburg

in their last 12 meetings, with

357

:

9 wins and 3 draws being played.

358

:

The player watch for both sides will

be, for Freiburg, it's Ritsu Doan.

359

:

Doan has been one of the best

for Freiburg this season.

360

:

He has added to his game with the

ability to score and assist with goals.

361

:

He can turn the game

in favour for his side.

362

:

There is also an honourable mention for

Vincenzo Griffo, as he's created the

363

:

most big chances for Freiburg with 11.

364

:

For RBL, it's Petty Galacci.

365

:

I fully expect him to still be

between the posts in the next

366

:

game, seeing as Marco Rosa doesn't

rotate that goalkeeping position.

367

:

Joining first now for the most clean

sheets in the Bundesliga this season

368

:

with Emanuel Neuer with 11, Galachi

has conceded 32 of the 33 goals RBL

369

:

has conceded so far this season.

370

:

He needs to pull his finger out

if we're going to get a top four

371

:

finish this season, if he is still

insisted being picked by Marco Rosa.

372

:

There's also an honourable

mention for Luis Appenda.

373

:

As he has the most shots on target

per match for RBL, averaging 1.

374

:

5 shots per game on target.

375

:

Now what I'd like to see in

this match with my line up.

376

:

If we're serious about turning our

season around and getting out of the

377

:

spiral, Marco Rosa needs to be pulled up.

378

:

Go back to basics.

379

:

Van der Voort needs to start in

goal, a back three just needs to go.

380

:

And go back to the

fundamentals of the 4 2 2 2.

381

:

No fluff, no fuss.

382

:

Experience would be key, as well,

to get the team morale better.

383

:

So, going from left to right, in the back

four, it's going to be David Raum, Willy

384

:

Orban, Kseli Keber, and, although I don't

like him at right back, Lucas Klosterman.

385

:

Then in the central defensive

midfielder roles, Kevin

386

:

Campbell, and Arthur Vermeeren.

387

:

Arthur Vermeer has been doing quite well

for himself lately and deserves a start.

388

:

And the central attacking midfielder

rolls, on the left, Chavi Simmons.

389

:

If Christoph Baumgartner is up for it

and can play, I will put him in the

390

:

right central attacking midfielder roll.

391

:

Otherwise, this is also going to be a

bit of a questionable decision, but with

392

:

the squad that we have at our disposal,

and the players we have, and Marco Rosa

393

:

not playing Tidim Gomis, which is who

I would pick to put in the debut in

394

:

this position, would be Amadou Haidara.

395

:

He's good enough to play as a number

8 box to box midfielder, he can

396

:

shoot, he sometimes can't be clinical,

but he's definitely going to be

397

:

able to get himself into positions.

398

:

and be able to shoot and score,

most likely, if he's up for it.

399

:

And then the front two,

Benjamin Sesker, Lewis Appenda.

400

:

Like I said, no fluff, no fuss.

401

:

For predictions, I want to be an

optimist and say a two, two draw, but

402

:

I'm going for another loss this time.

403

:

Three, two, as Galachy will start and

we will concede too many with the back,

404

:

three with plays outta position, I can't

really predict anything else except any

405

:

result that a win probably isn't gonna be

on the cards as I, like I said in the last

406

:

episode, I just can't see it happening.

407

:

Show and show us the debut of Gomes.

408

:

Get whatever fans travel.

409

:

Happy to see one of their new signings.

410

:

And now it's time for

the RBL talk segment.

411

:

Remember, you can be a part of the

show too with the RBL talk segment.

412

:

You need to come on the

show as a special guest.

413

:

The way you do this is by interacting

with us on Spotify social media such

414

:

as X or email in at show@rbltalk.com.

415

:

More information in detail on

how to get involved with the

416

:

show for free in the show notes.

417

:

We have some submissions today from

the RBFans discord community, some

418

:

from X and also some from Instagram.

419

:

first is from the RBFans

discord community.

420

:

Rob3r70 says it should

be Rose's last match.

421

:

Because it's a disaster, again.

422

:

I know how you think there, but

unfortunately, it's just not going to

423

:

happen, as the club has already said.

424

:

We're going to be sticking with

Marco Rosa to the end of the season.

425

:

We also have another submission from

NITROSO on the RBFans Discord community.

426

:

They said, Constantly, The S word.

427

:

For those that have kids or are listening

to kids in the room, you can educate your

428

:

young ones what that S word is if you so

choose, but it's not a very nice word.

429

:

How can a single player

not have a good game?

430

:

Can't even remember the last game

where the entire team showed up.

431

:

Yep, pretty much no player

on the pitch had a good game.

432

:

Like I said, Arthur Vermeeren and

Chavi Simmons were the best on

433

:

ground, but they were certainly

far from having great games.

434

:

There's really nothing else I could

say, and sometimes it's hard, with

435

:

the way our team is at the moment,

in, , being positive and also picking

436

:

good players on the pitch, especially in

437

:

And I honestly can't even remember

the last game where the entire team

438

:

showed up off the top of my head.

439

:

However, it would have been a Champions

League game, and as sad as it sounds,

440

:

probably one of the ones where we

lost, for instance, like the Juve.

441

:

We played so well, the whole entire

team played well, and it was just

442

:

experience that costed us in the end.

443

:

Next is from Gavin from X.

444

:

Says via a direct message.

445

:

Hi RBL Talk, Irish Leipzig fan here.

446

:

Love your work.

447

:

Keep it going.

448

:

I was thinking if Leipzig win

the DFB Cup, we should keep

449

:

Marco Rosa for one more season.

450

:

But if we get knocked out or lose the

final, he should leave in the summer.

451

:

And we bring in Eric Ten Hag as manager.

452

:

The lads are good enough

to win the Bundesliga.

453

:

Take care.

454

:

Couple of things to dissect there.

455

:

Thank you for listening over

there in Ireland, Gavin.

456

:

It's good to know that the

podcast is reaching more and

457

:

more countries every episode.

458

:

I will always keep doing

the work and keep it going.

459

:

I do this podcast for every single

listener, and that includes you.

460

:

, You were thinking, if Abelabsic

win the DFB Cup, we should keep

461

:

Marco Rosa for one more season.

462

:

Now, the only issue that I would

see with that is that, tactically,

463

:

you're still going to be the same.

464

:

And, unless there's a big, big change,

and that includes getting more squad

465

:

players as well, and that's not a

knock on Marco Rosa, that's a knock

466

:

on our upper management, above Marco

Rosa, who control the signings, then,

467

:

You know, we're just going to look to

the same football again next season.

468

:

Now, that being said, winning a DFB cup,

you should still be rewarded for that.

469

:

So as painful as it may be, as I want

what's best for the club and going

470

:

forward, it doesn't seem that Marco

Rosa is best going for the club.

471

:

As at the moment, it just seems

that , it's a PR stunt for owners Red

472

:

Bull, having a local man at the helm.

473

:

, I would still reward him, but only give

him a month or two and see how we go.

474

:

As soon as you do any little thing, you

already have another manager in waiting.

475

:

Now, if we were to replace him

with some of the rumours that are

476

:

saying Roger Schmidt, then it's

just going to be the same thing.

477

:

It doesn't matter if it's Marco Rosa,

Roger Schmidt, it's, I don't see

478

:

a big turnaround in the football.

479

:

We really need to get back to

our fundamentals and the basics

480

:

of what made this great team.

481

:

I said earlier episodes that I thought

Marco Rosa was quite possibly gifted a

482

:

couple of trophies, being the DFB Pokal

and the Super Cup, because after those

483

:

wins, we've started to see the Marco Rosa

football, which is completely different to

484

:

the normal Red Bull philosophy football.

485

:

So some of that's still there.

486

:

But it's almost non existent now.

487

:

Would be good to see

Eric Ten Hag as manager.

488

:

However, I do think RB Leipzig

are going to be pushing hard

489

:

for Sebastian Honnes first.

490

:

The lads are good enough

to win the Bundesliga.

491

:

I can agree with that.

492

:

However, it's the squad depth

and also the manager that are

493

:

stopping us from winning that.

494

:

I can't see us winning the Bundesliga

with Marco Rosa at the helm.

495

:

It doesn't matter what squad

that we have, even if we had

496

:

the best squad in the world.

497

:

World football.

498

:

I still can't that see

that being the case.

499

:

However, the lads we have are

good enough and have quality.

500

:

We just need to maximize the squad

depth so that if injuries happen

501

:

and rotating for players, something

that Marco Rosa doesn't do.

502

:

People say that it's

because of the squad depth.

503

:

Well, you can still rotate players.

504

:

And Ballum from X also from Direct Message

says don't worry about the recent no

505

:

live stream Stuttgart away tough on paper

Good test for team and a good practice

506

:

before his final you'll have one or two

contracts To preview this match in near

507

:

future Lucky buyer they have Armenia

away Yes Why Levi CuSum got the really

508

:

good draw against Armenia Biofield.

509

:

I personally said that I didn't

want to get Armenia biofield anyway.

510

:

I would rather have stood Gut or

Levi CuSum because I feel that

511

:

we're going to lose the next

game in the d FP podcast anyway.

512

:

Didn't matter who we played.

513

:

And , as critical as I have been on

manager Marco Rosa, I know what it's

514

:

like to , , be scrutinized all the

time with everything that you do.

515

:

Hey, as a content creator and a

podcaster, I'm also scrutinized all

516

:

the time with everything that I do.

517

:

So I understand how manager

Marco Rosso is feeling.

518

:

So I would rather have

there be excuses for him.

519

:

Against, , the likes of Leverkusen

or Stuttgart, which are currently

520

:

better squads and sides than us.

521

:

So if we did lose, it's not going to be,

oh, well, an embarrassment and we lost

522

:

against Armenia, you know, by a field.

523

:

So at least you have that, but

like, look, we were just beaten

524

:

by another competitive side in the

Bundesliga, which is a respectful

525

:

way to go out of the competition.

526

:

I will be, however, doing a live stream

in the next game against Freiburg.

527

:

So if you're available and not doing

anything, make sure to check that out.

528

:

, streaming on all platforms.

529

:

rl9louifan on Instagram

says, Not much to say.

530

:

We played a great first half, but

then everything ruined in the second.

531

:

Our best player tonight was Travis

Simmons, and our worst three were 1.

532

:

Lewis Appenda 2.

533

:

Rydell Baku 3.

534

:

Lutus Shirel Gertruder Rose out.

535

:

I understand what you mean

there by not much to say.

536

:

It is sometimes very difficult to

say certain things and, , some people

537

:

at times, we're lost for words.

538

:

I was originally lost for words

when I, , got the prediction right.

539

:

It was something that I knew

that was kind of becoming.

540

:

It was something that I fully expected.

541

:

I didn't just guess it, but I wanted

us to, I wanted myself to be wrong.

542

:

I wanted us to still be able to win.

543

:

That being said, Lewis Appenda

definitely played a terrible game.

544

:

Not so much Raito Baku and the

Distraught Gatruder, but they were

545

:

equally just as bad as each other.

546

:

I do think it is time for

Rose out, unfortunately.

547

:

PIA__HFFMR from Instagram says, I

don't think it's the coach, it's

548

:

the overall performance of the team.

549

:

I agree with that statement,

but only in part, as I don't

550

:

think it's just the coach.

551

:

So it's not just Marco Rose's fault.

552

:

That being said, how long can he

produce and be in the position that

553

:

he's in before, like I've always

said, how long does it start being

554

:

a public publicity stunt for owners

Red Bull to have a local at the helm?

555

:

, PR for public relations, so it's a good

look, it's good for business, it's good,

556

:

you know, good in that retro guard.

557

:

But it's not about the football.

558

:

And that's, at the moment, to me, from

an international supporter's perspective,

559

:

it's not about the football at the moment.

560

:

It doesn't matter where we end up.

561

:

Like, who cares at this point?

562

:

, it's all about manager Marco Rosso,

we've got the local at the helm,

563

:

we've got a local fan base, , yes,

the local fans, they are key.

564

:

They are the ones that

put the bum in the seats.

565

:

They're the ones that pay for the tickets.

566

:

They're the ones that are

the voices in the stadium.

567

:

My part as an international fan is

giving a voice to every single person.

568

:

Doesn't just mean local fans, but every

single person around in the world.

569

:

And I want them to have that voice.

570

:

And they are Most of them,

with me, a general consensus of

571

:

we're fed up with this football.

572

:

Yes, it's not just Marco Rosa's fault.

573

:

I know that.

574

:

Most fans know that.

575

:

Most fans, they don't like Marco

Rosa for one way or another.

576

:

For me, it's just his tactics.

577

:

If he can turn his tactics around and

make us play better football, I would

578

:

love him to be at the helm for the next

ten, Or whatever years it may be, and

579

:

have a long, successful relationship.

580

:

We've already won

trophies with Marco Rosa.

581

:

He's shown that he can

win things at RB Leipzig.

582

:

But at the end of the day, when are we

going to be going down to this spiral

583

:

of, we're going to be a mid table club.

584

:

Is this going to be something that

is expected of us going forward?

585

:

Yes, it's not.

586

:

Always the greatest, especially

with how the Red Bull model is.

587

:

We get these good young players, we build

them up, we get them better at their

588

:

trade, and as they're starting to reach

their prime, we sell them off for profit.

589

:

Look, it does work.

590

:

We've shown that.

591

:

But you also need to have a good

Manager, fundamentally able to

592

:

teach the players all the Red Bull

philosophy and work on the players

593

:

strengths and also work on the players

negatives coming through the ranks.

594

:

That's what makes us such a

good side getting in there.

595

:

I hope, I really do hope if Marco Rosa

does go, that all the management at

596

:

Red Bull, they really think about this.

597

:

Because the next manager is key and

it can't be someone just in the same

598

:

mold as Marco Rosa and anyone else

in the Red Bull system as before.

599

:

It simply won't work.

600

:

We need someone fresh.

601

:

We need someone with new ideas.

602

:

They need to be brought to the

table and then injected the Red

603

:

Bull philosophy in how we play.

604

:

That there.

605

:

will make the club more dynamic

and better going forward.

606

:

As always, I'd like to thank the
