Episode 60 - We don't show what we are capable of

In this episode Justin informs the listeners of the latest news including Castello Lukeba could be their next big sale, especially if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. The Frenchman is said to be planning a transfer in the summer and wants to make use of the current release clause in his contract which is said to be worth €90m and is active in the summer. Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are the clubs that have been linked to Lukeba in recent months. It didn't go all RB Leipzig's way against Augsburg as they played out a 0-0 draw as RB youngster El Chadaille Bitshiabu missed the departure of the team bus and therefore also the flight, so at the end of the day he couldn’t travel to Augsburg something similar happened to a young Yussuf Poulsen at RBL years ago, who missed the final training session in the 3rd division under coach Alexander Zorniger and was subsequently suspended for one game it remains to be seen if the 19yr Frenchman punishment will be as severe for his poor time management.

We preview the upcoming Bundesliga fixture against FC Heidenheim with player watch and predictions with a long RBL talk segment with some detailed submissions to go through.

In the RBL talk segment there are listener questions from rob3r0 on the RB fans discord, Balham on X, rl9lewyfan and pia_hffmr on Instagram.

Justin: Hello everyone,

and welcome to RBL Talk.

3

:

On today's show, we have some club news.

4

:

We recap the 0 0 draw against FC Augsburg,

which I did a live stream during this

5

:

. Game, thank you to all those people who

joined in the coverage and participated

6

:

during the stream with your comments.

7

:

I'll preview Matchday 23 in the

Bundesliga against FC Heidenheim

8

:

and also in the RBL talk segment,

your listener input on the show.

9

:

First up in club news, Bitshiabu

fine instead of starting 11.

10

:

Because El Chadaille Bitshiabu missed

the departure on Friday, he was

11

:

not in RB Leipzig's squad for the

Bundesliga match against FC Augsburg.

12

:

A doubly expensive faux

pas for the Frenchman.

13

:

On Saturday, El Chadaille Bitshiabu

was at least on time again.

14

:

When the regeneration session for

the reserves was scheduled at the

15

:

performance center on Cottaweg Under

normal circumstances the young defender

16

:

would have been scheduled for a

relaxed recovery session as is usual

17

:

for professionals called up to the

starting 11 the evening before According

18

:

to kicker information Bitshiabu was

scheduled to start in the Lineup by

19

:

coach Marco Rose and was supposed to

move into the center of defense for

20

:

the red carded captain Willi Orban.

21

:

But because Bitshiabu was literally

not part of the team in Augsburg, he

22

:

was really put to the test on Saturday.

23

:

Instead, Lukas Klostermann

moved into the starting 11.

24

:

For Bitshiabu, it was an expensive

faux pas in two respects.

25

:

In sporting terms, he missed the

opportunity to promote himself with his

26

:

first start in the Bundesliga season

and to confirm the recent upward trend.

27

:

In financial terms, the Frenchman,

who has a strongly performance

28

:

related contract, not only missed

out on the appearance and points

29

:

bonus, but he also has to pay a fine.

30

:

a fine into the team's coffers,

which is set out in the club's

31

:

internal catalogue of penalties.

32

:

However, those in charge want to leave

it at that, as the defensive player

33

:

who was brought in from Paris Saint

Germain in:

34

:

as decent and reliable in terms of

character, and has not yet attracted

35

:

attention due to indiscipline.

36

:

From tomorrow, he will be part of

the team again, Rose had already

37

:

confirmed after the final whistle,

adding, I'm not going to rip his

38

:

head off, he should learn from it.

39

:

Castello Lukeba could be

RB Leipzig's next big sale.

40

:

Sport Bild reports that RB Leipzig

defender Castello Lukeba could be their

41

:

next big sale, especially if they fail

to qualify for the Champions League.

42

:

The Frenchman is said to be planning a

transfer in the summer and wants to make

43

:

use of current release clause in his

contract, which is said to be worth 90

44

:

million euro and is active in the summer.

45

:

Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea and

Manchester United are the clubs that have

46

:

been linked to Lukeba in recent months,

but where his next step is unknown.

47

:

This season, Lukeba has struggled

to match his previous format

48

:

Leipzig, mainly due to injuries.

49

:

The 22 year old has only just come

back from a hamstring injury, which

50

:

meant he missed 11 games, and is

still building up his match fitness.

51

:

If the Lyon native is sold in the

summer, he will be the joint Leipzig's

52

:

history, equaling the fee Leipzig

received for Joško Gvardiol when

53

:

he joined Manchester City in 2023.

54

:

RB climbs to 26th place

in the all time table.

55

:

RB Leipzig has climbed to 26th place

in the all time table of the Bundesliga

56

:

after they drew against FC Augsburg.

57

:

With one point on Friday evening, Marco

Rose's team overtook regional league

58

:

team KFC Uerdingen when also has 543

points thanks to better goal difference.

59

:

The next team Within reach is 3rd

division club Arminia Bielefeld,

60

:

661 points, RB could probably break

into the top 25 in the rankings in

61

:

the middle of the 2026 27 season.

62

:

TSG 1860 Munich, 884 points,

would only overtake RB at the end

63

:

of the 2029 2030 season if they

averaged 65 points in 34 games.

64

:

They do not score any more points.

65

:

Hoffenheim 24th on 746 points

and Mainz are, 23rd, 795 points,

66

:

both of which are still ahead of

Munich, are collecting points in

67

:

the German top division themselves.

68

:

It is therefore difficult to predict

when RBL will leave these teams behind.

69

:

Record champions Bayern Munich

are at the top of the all time

70

:

table, ahead of Borussia Dortmund,

Werder Bremen and VfB Stuttgart.

71

:

Now let's recap the FC Augsburg game

with the good, the bad and the ugly.

72

:

Before we get into a detailed

summary recap, we will have a look

73

:

at player watch players for both

sides and even the best players.

74

:

A quick overview of the

debut of Kosta Nadelkovic.

75

:

Starting with the good, 14 total shots

is alright for some game of football.

76

:

Retained the ball well

with 62 percent possession.

77

:

Eight shots inside the box,

which is just over half, which

78

:

is what you do want to do.

79

:

You want to shoot as

close to goal as possible.

80

:

Passing was accurate.

81

:

462 of 531 total passes completed

at a success rate of 87%.

82

:

As mentioned, we saw the debut of

Kosta Nandelkovic, which we will

83

:

get into later on in the show.

84

:

106 of 134 passes in the final

third, which is 79 percent accuracy.

85

:

Now for the bad.

86

:

We were offside twice.

87

:

We received one booking, a yellow card.

88

:

Only 5 of 22 crosses on target.

89

:

That's just 22%.

90

:

We really do need to start

working on our crosses.

91

:

Gave away 12 free kicks.

92

:

And we missed 3 big chances.

93

:

And the ugly.

94

:

There's a couple of things here.

95

:

Ha!

96

:

Only 4 total shots on target, out of 14.

97

:

That's just 28.

98

:

57 percent of shots on target.

99

:

That's dismal.

100

:

Too much passing on the defensive third?

101

:

Not passing forward?

102

:

229 of 462 passes in our own half.

103

:

That's 49.

104

:

56%.

105

:

That's too high.

106

:

Augsburg, on the other hand, made 99

out of 251 passes in their own half.

107

:

That's only 39.

108

:

44%.

109

:

They were more attacking than us.

110

:

That's just sad.

111

:

We really need to work

on our attacking play.

112

:

Ball retention is one thing.

113

:

Doing something with the ball

is a completely different story.

114

:

Three things we learned via Augsburg.

115

:

Number one.

116

:

RB Leipzig are a Finnish

club under Marco Rose.

117

:

We're dropping too many points, and it

seems management are happy with this,

118

:

and us fans are having to pay the price.

119

:

Number two.

120

:

Xavi Simons goes to ground way too easily.

121

:

There was an instance where Xavi

went to the floor and fell over

122

:

and whined like a little baby

that he should get a free kick.

123

:

Well, you weren't even touched.

124

:

Learn to keep your balance

instead of playing for free kicks.

125

:

This in particular during the live stream

was really appalling and really annoying.

126

:

Number three.

127

:

We can play good enough

without Willi Orban.

128

:

Attacking we were poor, but

defensively we did alright, without

129

:

the leader and general in defence.

130

:

Orban would have been desperately

missed against a top side.

131

:

Thankfully, we played a mid table side

that we still bottled against again.

132

:

Having a look at player watch players

for Augsburg, it was Alexis Claude.

133

:

He completed the most dribbles

in the match with three.

134

:

From his 43 touches as he played the full

90 minutes, three of those in the RBL

135

:

box, he won 56% of his duels made at 25

of 28 passes with an accuracy of 89%, one

136

:

of two shots on target, along with five

defensive actions and one in interception.

137

:

For RBL, it was Xavi Simons.

138

:

He played the full 90 minutes with

66 touches three in the Augsburg box.

139

:

One successful dribble.

140

:

He made 41 of 45 passes at

a completion rate of 91%.

141

:

He created two chances with

five passes of the final.

142

:

Third.

143

:

Xavi was dispossessed three

times, made one clearance, and

144

:

won six of 11 dues at 54.54%

145

:

of the time.

146

:

He was also fouled four times.

147

:

Both of these players were close

to if not the best player on

148

:

ground for their respective sides.

149

:

And I think Alexis Claude edges out

Xavi by simply being as effective

150

:

without having so much of the ball.

151

:

Plus his ability to stay on

his feet and not play for free

152

:

kicks was a bonus for Augsburg.

153

:

The first half saw Leipzig assert

their dominance in possession, with

154

:

Xavi pulling the strings in midfield.

155

:

The visitors created several half

chances, with Christoph Baumgartner

156

:

forcing a save from Finn Dahmen early on.

157

:

Augsburg however remained disciplined

in their defensive shape, frustrating

158

:

Leipzig's attempts to break them down.

159

:

The hosts weren't without their

own opportunities, as Alexis

160

:

Claude tested Péter Gulacsi with

a powerful drive from distance.

161

:

As the half progressed, the match

developed into a tactical battle,

162

:

with Augsburg compact defense holding

firm against Leipzig's probing attacks

163

:

coming from few and far between.

164

:

The second half saw an increase

in intensity from both sides.

165

:

Leipzig continued to control

possession, but Augsburg grew in

166

:

confidence and began to create more

opportunities on the counter attack.

167

:

Dahman was called into action again,

making a smart save from Lukas

168

:

Klostermann's close range effort.

169

:

At the other end, Frank Onyeka squandered

a golden opportunity for Augsburg,

170

:

firing wide when well positioned.

171

:

As the match wore on, both managers

made tactical substitutions in

172

:

an attempt to break the deadlock.

173

:

Marco Rose introduced Luis Appenda for

Baumgardner, while Jess Thorup brought

174

:

on Philipp Teitz for Samuel Essendé

to provide a fresh attacking impetus.

175

:

The changes led an increasingly open game,

with both teams pushing for a winner.

176

:

RBL came agonizingly close to

snatching all three points in injury

177

:

time when Substitute and debutant

Kosta Nedeljkovic's header struck the

178

:

crossbar in the second minute of four

minutes of injury time, which ended up

179

:

being the best opportunity RBL would

have in trying to get the winner.

180

:

A little bit more about that debut

from Kosta Nedeljkovic, who arrived

181

:

on loan from Aston Villa last month.

182

:

He came on during the 82nd

minute for Raidou Baku.

183

:

He played 8 minutes in total,

not including injury time.

184

:

Won one of one ground duels.

185

:

Had 15 touches, created one big

chance, which was his header that

186

:

hit the crossbar, of two total shots.

187

:

Kosta also made 7 of 7 passes, and tried

to make 3 crosses, only one came off.

188

:

For an under 10 minute cameo, that's

not bad, at all, especially for a debut.

189

:

Manager Marco Rose and some of the players

spoke to the media after the match.

190

:

They had this to say.

191

:

Marco Rose.

192

:

In the first half, we had good

solutions in the opening stages.

193

:

What we lacked was depth and

solutions in front of goal.

194

:

We addressed that.

195

:

We missed Willi Orban.

196

:

It was good between the 16s and the

defensive on both sides in the 16s.

197

:

I do believe that this This article

was converted from English to

198

:

German, so I believe it means sixes.

199

:

Offensively, we didn't take cover

ourselves in glory on either side.

200

:

We ran 116 kilometers.

201

:

We were already there.

202

:

We would like to have a win, but we would

have to play a bit better to do that.

203

:

Even though I saw a few good things,

it's clear that there are fewer games.

204

:

We need wins now too.

205

:

Péter Gulácsi, I think

we had good control.

206

:

We need more power up front.

207

:

We weren't forceful enough.

208

:

We found the spaces, but

then didn't really carry on.

209

:

We need that ease back.

210

:

The decisions weren't always right, so we

couldn't take advantage of the chances.

211

:

Augsburg defended really well.

212

:

That's part of it.

213

:

We defended a lot of set pieces.

214

:

The defense was solid.

215

:

We've kept a clean sheet

in the last three games.

216

:

Getting that stability

back was important for me.

217

:

And finally, David Raum.

218

:

I'm finding it a bit difficult.

219

:

The clear aim is to get three points here.

220

:

Of course, you can look at the

positive side and say that we're

221

:

playing away to a clean sheet.

222

:

But, when you have to do the thing

up front, it's a negative nil nil.

223

:

We have to take

responsibility for ourselves.

224

:

We have the quality, we have

excitement, the will is always there.

225

:

Everyone has high

expectations of themselves.

226

:

But you can see that we

sometimes want too much.

227

:

We need clear processes towards the goal.

228

:

We need to create more

chances for ourselves.

229

:

Out of the three, I think David

Raum has the better option here.

230

:

And he's got the nail right on the head.

231

:

The best players for Augsburg

were Finn Darman, Frank

232

:

Onyeka, Chris Lane, Mads Sima,

233

:

cedric Ziziga and Alexis Claude.

234

:

Best players for RPL were Lukas

Klostermann, who was the most

235

:

accurate passer to play 45 minutes

or more with an accuracy of 97%.

236

:

Klosty also completed the most

passes in the match with 64.

237

:

Luciael Gertruda, who had the

most tackles in the match with 3.

238

:

David Raum, who created the most

chances in the match with 4.

239

:

and Xavi Simons and Péter Galacci.

240

:

Now for a suspensions

and injury list update.

241

:

We will go through the injured players

all through earliest to latest.

242

:

Expecting the earliest returns first.

243

:

Antonio Nusa with a knee injury.

244

:

Estimated return date is late March.

245

:

Osana Drago, hamstring

injury, ERD mid April.

246

:

Xavier Schlager, knee injury, ERD,

late May, and Benny Hendricks, Achilles

247

:

tendon, injury, ERD, end of season.

248

:

Now let's preview the FC

Heidenheim game in the Bundesliga.

249

:

FC Heidenheim will be without Niklas

Dortch in our upcoming fixture, as

250

:

Frank Schmidt's side struggle to

stay in the Bundesliga this season,

251

:

currently sitting in 16th position

in the relegation playoffs position,

252

:

after 22 games winning 4, drawing

2 and losing 16, with a negative

253

:

20 goal differential and 14 points.

254

:

RBL, on the other hand, remarkably

stayed in the top 4, as teams around

255

:

us also dropped points in matchday 22.

256

:

RBL are sitting 4th position, 1 point

ahead of 5th placed FC Freiburg.

257

:

We have won 10 games, drawn 7 and

lost 5, with a goal differential

258

:

of plus 7 at 37 points.

259

:

There have been nine games

between these two sides, with RBL

260

:

having an advantage, winning 55.

261

:

55 percent of the time, with five

wins, three draws, and Heidenheim

262

:

winning just once, coming in the 2nd

Bundesliga division back on the 22nd

263

:

of March of 2015, at their home ground.

264

:

With the way RBL are

travelling at the moment.

265

:

Heidenheim haven't had a better

chance to be able to beat RBL in

266

:

their home ground in the Red Bull

Arena Than they do in this fixture

267

:

Some interesting match facts leading

to this game are RBL have kept the most

268

:

clean sheets in the competition, with 11.

269

:

RBL have scored 4 goals

in their last 5 matches.

270

:

And RBL haven't lost to FC Heidenheim

in their last 5 meetings, with 4

271

:

wins in a draw being played out.

272

:

Heidenheim have scored 4 goals in

their last 5 matches in the Bundesliga.

273

:

And Heidenheim haven't kept

a clean sheet in 7 matches.

274

:

For player watch for both sides, for

RBL, I'm picking Kosta Nadelkovic.

275

:

I don't think he will start,

but I really liked what I saw

276

:

in the eight minutes he played.

277

:

If he can fit in quickly and perform

the way he did against Augsburg,

278

:

we will have ourselves a very

versatile attacking full back.

279

:

A great compliment to

David Raum on the left.

280

:

For Heidenheim, Matthijs Honsak.

281

:

The 28 year old Austrian international

has started eight Bundesliga games

282

:

played 798 minutes and scored 3 goals

with 1 assist in the competition.

283

:

Matthias can not only score and create

chances for Heidenheim, something they

284

:

have been struggling for this season

domestically, if they can keep it tight

285

:

at the back it would give Matthias

the best chance of giving Heidenheim

286

:

a big chance on getting some points

against a highly favourable RBL outfit.

287

:

An honourable mention for Leo Sainzer.

288

:

Who has the most shots on target per

match for FC Heidenheim, averaging 1.

289

:

4 shots on target per game.

290

:

What I'd like to see in this

match, with a possible line up,

291

:

is squad rotations and Kostner and

Delkovic needs to play more minutes.

292

:

I'd love to see them get 20 minutes

or close to it, as it looks like

293

:

we could be onto something here.

294

:

I really don't think this back

three is going to be working.

295

:

So I'm changing it back

to a 4, 2, 3, 1 formation.

296

:

With the upcoming DFB Pokal quarterfinal

in mind, I've gone to rest a few

297

:

players in the league and the rest

of players will either play a small

298

:

cameo or be completely rested.

299

:

So Martina van der Voort gets the

nod in goal, replacing Péter Galacci.

300

:

From left to right, a back four of

David Raum, El Chad al Bitshiabu,

301

:

Willi Orban, Lukas Klostermann at

right back, resting Rydell Baku.

302

:

In the double six role, Nicholas

Seiwald and Arthur Vermeeren.

303

:

Attacking midfield of three, of

Lewis Appenda on the left, who can

304

:

push forward, as well as give us

good speed and options up front.

305

:

He also needs to start and

score against Heidenheim for his

306

:

confidence, and maybe after his 25th

birthday he might feel refreshed.

307

:

Viggo Gerbil can start in the number

10 role, resting Xavi Simmonds,

308

:

who will come on at some point.

309

:

On the right, Christoph Baumgartner,

who will be substituted off for

310

:

another new signing, TDM Gomis, at

some stage, with a swap of a pender

311

:

to the right, and Gomis on the left,

in his more favorable position.

312

:

Up front, Yousef Poulsen starts in front

of Benjamin Sesko, managing the Slovenians

313

:

at minutes, who starts the quarterfinal

against Wolfsburg just a few days later.

314

:

For predictions, This is hard.

315

:

When we are so far off the pace, a

normal RBL team and game style should

316

:

be seeing us win comfortably, but of

recent results, the question remains,

317

:

which team will show up in the end?

318

:

in front of the fans on Sunday afternoon.

319

:

If it's the team we all know is

somewhere shows up, it's an easy 3

320

:

0 win, as Heidenheim will struggle

to score and win in this game.

321

:

But if the unpredictable team

of inconsistent and lacklustre

322

:

performing comes to the fore,

this could be a boring 1 1 draw.

323

:

So let's be optimistic and go with

the former instead of the latter.

324

:

And now it's time for

the RBL Talk segment.

325

:

Remember you can be a part of the

show too, with the RBL Talk segment.

326

You can even come on the

show as a special guest.

328

:

as X, or email in at show at rbltalk.

330

:

More information, in detail,

on how to get involved with the

331

:

show for free, in the show notes.

332

:

First submission today is

from Ballum on X with username

333

:

Ballum with four underscores.

334

:

They said via DM, end of an error.

335

:

No identity under Rose Ball.

336

:

Ralph Hassenhutl, former manager

as we know, will fancy his chances

337

:

in DFB Pokal match for Volkswagen.

338

:

I like that your listeners are a

passionate bunch who all want Leipzig

339

:

to go to next step and win Bundesliga.

340

:

You do always remind everyone

still a young club and give time.

341

:

Do you like and listen to

Bundesliga theme song anthem much?

342

:

You can hear this on YouTube.

343

:

Leipzig are in a situation middle of

February where they need Frankfurt

344

:

and Stuttgart to lose matches

for them to finish in top four.

345

:

Kloppo has been watching Paris FC in

the second tier in France because Red

346

:

Bull own a small share in this team.

347

:

Truly hope he is watching this.

348

:

Augsburg, Loki are frustrating.

349

:

They always know how to

pick up results to stay up.

350

:

I'm not the biggest fan of FC Augsburg

as a football club in the Bundesliga.

351

:

I definitely think fans

are allowed to be mad.

352

:

They spent their valentine's day evening

watching this Let's not repeat this word

353

:

it's kid friendly shows so it has the uh

the s word For poo, I guess you could say

354

:

would probably be the nicest word to use

355

:

Bundesliga highlights on YouTube

is only 59 seconds of this

356

:

match uploaded on Friday night.

357

:

It was like watching paint dry.

358

:

Thank you for entertaining viewers

with your watch along live stream.

359

:

Almost felt Leipzig

were waiting for a goal.

360

:

No characters and leaders taking game

by taking risks was too safe in play.

361

:

Clean sheet away from home is

a platform for next away match.

362

:

Trying to uplift everyone's mood.

363

:

Over the bar on YouTube a few weeks

back did a Leipzig match vlog, low key

364

:

a little personalised for you Justin.

365

:

Do you recommend this to new

listeners of the podcast who

366

:

only started listening this year?

367

:

Do Leipzig need a summer

transfer mini clear out?

368

:

Would you take Eden Terzic, a

wildcard outsider in some ways?

369

:

Him being out of work would

make it easier for Leipzig to

370

:

hire a new trainer, head coach.

371

:

Statistically, he won DFB

Pokal, first half season in BVB.

372

:

Took them to second place in the

Bundesliga and in Champions League final.

373

:

Borussia Dortmund, 1909,

have Klopp links as we know.

374

:

Would you welcome Klopp's friend

Steven Gerrard as the next manager?

375

:

Thoughts?

376

:

Not enough experience in him yet.

377

:

Not yet.

378

:

Xavi Alonso would be nice.

379

:

Think this would be almost

impossible to happen.

380

:

But would you take Xavi?

381

:

And not Xavi Simmonds?

382

:

Xavi Hernandez?

383

:

Well, commonly known as Xavi

1 La Liga with Barcelona.

384

:

It is important Leipzig get

next manager appointment correct

385

:

after the Jesse March experience.

386

:

Wikipedia say between 2010 and

:

387

:

assistant coach in the youth academy

of Borussia Dortmund, reporting to

388

:

first team manager Jürgen Klopp.

389

:

Could a similar relationship between

two work now, for example, one to

390

:

watch as Fabrizio Romano would say.

391

:

Steven Gerrard and a head of Red

Bull football Jürgen have Liverpool

392

:

connections, only sharing my thoughts.

393

:

A lot to dissect there Bellum.

394

:

So we'll go through it bit by bit.

395

:

Firstly and foremost, I'm glad you

enjoyed the livestream watch along.

396

:

I do agree that there is no identity under

Marco Rose when it comes to our football.

397

:

I do occasionally listen to the Bundesliga

theme song anthem, but not all the time.

398

:

Normally if I need a little bit of a

pick me up funny enough at the gym, or

399

:

And just to get a little bit excited

for football sometimes, put it in the

400

:

playlist tracks, to be listening for that.

401

:

It's true, Augsburg do know

how to stay in the Bundesliga.

402

:

There's a saying that if you

can beat Augsburg in the league

403

:

table, you'll definitely stay up.

404

:

It is a very disappointing fact that

at the moment that we are relying that

405

:

Frankfurt and Stuttgart lose their

matches fast to finish in top four.

406

:

We really should be taking our own

destiny, I guess you could say for

407

:

lack of better wording, into account.

408

:

Into our own hands instead of

which is a real possibility.

409

:

We could drop as low as 10th come

season's end with only at this

410

:

time of recording seven points

separating from fourth to 10th.

411

:

I do know that Kloppo has been watching

all the other Red Bull teams as well, or

412

:

where we have our investments in as that's

part of his role of head of global soccer.

413

:

It was pretty disappointing for the fans

on Valentine's Day evening watching it.

414

:

For myself it was

actually Saturday morning.

415

:

Valentine's Day was the

day beforehand for me.

416

:

But it was like watching

paint dry, as you said.

417

:

It was

418

:

almost like I had to start thinking

that I was going to be an entertainer

419

:

and entertain people on the live

stream, due to the football being

420

:

on display was pretty poor at best.

421

:

So put it as nice as possible.

422

:

It did seem like that we were

resting on our laurels a little bit

423

:

and waiting for that first goal.

424

:

And when it comes to the, the

vlog over there on the Over The

425

:

Bar podcast and YouTube channel.

426

:

Yeah, they did do one.

427

:

And I don't know if it was just because

of my request or anything like that,

428

:

as I said, yeah, that would be awesome

to, you know, to do because, you know,

429

:

RB Leipzig gets given a lot of flack,

obviously because of, you know, the whole

430

:

Red Bull stance and things like that.

431

:

And it's good to see independent

podcasters doing something for everyone

432

:

because the over the bar team, Mark and

Rory and Péter, they go to all these

433

:

football grounds in Germany, and they

give a really good unbiased view on

434

:

how the facilities is, what the games

are like, and everything like that.

435

:

And, they've done really well in, yes,

it was a little bit tailored for me,

436

:

and, I'm personally a little bit chuffed

about that, and, you know, I thanked them

437

:

for the content that they provided, but

it's also something that an international

438

:

supporter can now go and watch, and then

as they come into going to the Red Bull

439

:

Arena for the very first time, they can

then get a little bit of an understanding

440

:

of what to expect going into the stadium.

441

:

I don't know if we need a little bit of

a summer mini clear out though, Balamb.

442

:

So, we certainly need to get rid

of a few players, and maybe even

443

:

invest a little bit more as well.

444

:

Because if we get rid of some players,

we're going to absolutely need to reinvest

445

:

in those, because the squad is already

pretty thin as it is at the moment.

446

:

And then on to our managers.

447

:

So you mentioned three there.

448

:

You mentioned Eden Terzic, Stephen

Gerrard, and, uh, well, you said

449

:

Xavi Alonso as well, but that's never

going to happen, so I'm just going

450

:

to disregard that one, but, uh, Xavi

Hernandez as well, the ex president.

451

:

FC Barcelona manager and also

La Masaya Academy product.

452

:

I think the latter is probably the

best way that I would go personally,

453

:

because I love that style of football.

454

:

Yes, you can get the possession

based football, but you also

455

:

have to be attacking with it.

456

:

Don't just always be passing laterally

sidewards or going backwards.

457

:

Just to retain the ball you need to

be attacking with it And if you're

458

:

going to go sideways from side to side

you're doing it to try to open up the

459

:

other side and in defense So you can go

forward and you can exploit any sort of

460

:

Opportunities and options you have on the

wings as team shift from side to side.

461

:

I think the players could learn a

few things, although it would be very

462

:

odd to see another person outside the

Red Bull system come into RB Leipzig.

463

:

I think it's something that the owners

and Kloppo need to possibly have a look at

464

:

in something expanding, try to implement

the best parts of the football game

465

:

style play of another player, sorry I

should say another manager like Kloppo.

466

:

Xavi Hernandez and then implement

the Red Bull parts into it as well.

467

:

The most likelihood of those I

would probably say would be Steven

468

:

Gerrard, not Eden Tezic, who I

absolutely have no issue with.

469

:

Eden Tezic, it was quite a good manager.

470

:

I felt he was a little bit unrightfully

sacked at Dortmund, at Borussia Dortmund.

471

:

Yes, they were going down, but

If you looked at how they've

472

:

replaced him, they were far better

off just keeping Eden Terzic.

473

:

Um, and a little bit of bias as well

when it comes to Eden Terzic as well.

474

:

Um, I do believe that he's Bosnian

and one of my work colleagues who

475

:

is Bosnian actually said, like,

he's a really good manager and knows

476

:

a lot more than I do about him.

477

:

So I really felt that He was a bit

unjust to be getting the sack there,

478

:

at least with how they've replaced him.

479

:

If they hadn't replaced him with someone

as good, if not better, then yeah.

480

:

However, you know, Brisha Dortmund

are really in some problems right

481

:

now, but I wouldn't mind having

Steven Gerrard coming there.

482

:

I do think he's a little bit

under experienced, I guess you

483

:

could say, but already managing.

484

:

at the helm of

485

:

one of the biggest clubs in

world football in Liverpool.

486

:

You can't, not many, too many players or

managers can even say that I should say.

487

:

And if you look at Vincent Kompany,

who's now doing an okay job over at

488

:

Bayern Munich, he was only managing

Burnley and got them relegated.

489

:

So if he can do that, Steven

Gerrard should be able to do

490

:

perfectly fine at RB Leipzig.

491

:

Over on Instagram, PIA, scroll

H-F-F-M-R says, again, far too

492

:

little mate of the chances.

493

:

We had a lot of ball possession

and didn't make anything out of it.

494

:

Again, actually, it was

a game we had to win.

495

:

Now Stuttgart can pass us by.

496

:

I do think that we made too little

chances for the position that we had.

497

:

When you have so much possession,

you have to do something with it.

498

:

You can't just keep play keep away

football and do nothing with it.

499

:

No one wants to see a team have

55 to 70 percent ball possession

500

:

and then do nothing with it.

501

:

That's just boring football.

502

:

And I've noticed that of late under Marco

Rose, our football hasn't really been as

503

:

direct in attacking as previous Red Bull

teams, including when Marco Rose first

504

:

came into the club and took the helm.

505

:

I'm almost starting to think

that his first couple of trophies

506

:

were actually gifted to him.

507

:

And what we're starting to see now is

the Marco Rose football philosophy.

508

:

Now he still has plenty of

time to turn that around.

509

:

But we can't really rely on Stuttgart

and other teams poor performances for

510

:

us to stay up in the top four, to play.

511

:

European football again,

512

:

and I think you're completely right there.

513

:

It was a game that we had

to win and we, we failed.

514

:

rl9lewyfan on Instagram also says,

yes, it was boring performance.

515

:

Yes, it was painful to watch,

but we deserved to win.

516

:

The woodwork robbed Nodelkovich of a goal.

517

:

The only good thing from this match

is Acosta and Nodelkovich's debut

518

:

and the one point that we gained.

519

:

Again, yep, it was

definitely a painful watch.

520

:

And yeah, you could say that we

deserved to win late in the end there.

521

:

And it was Nodelkovich who

gave us our best chance for me.

522

:

Uh, the young fullback coming

on loan from Aston Villa.

523

:

He really impressed looking forward to

seeing what he can do going forward into

524

:

the club Although I think from for me

personally Leaving it till that late

525

:

and that having as our best chance to

try to win the game against a team that

526

:

is notoriously known as a Relegation

candidate or Towards the lower end

527

:

of the Bundesliga table We should be

comfortably beating these teams and if

528

:

we're not it's simply not good enough

so I think a draw would have been the

529

:

best and fairest result and finally

Rob3r70 From RB fans discord Which

530

:

you can join for free with the link in

the show notes says Rob3r70 Rose is so

531

:

lucky so far in this season because with

this poor performance, especially in

532

:

attack, we should be much more below.

533

:

I couldn't agree with you

any more with that statement.

534

:

I have no idea how we

are top four right now.

535

:

And look, I don't mind the team

focusing more on our defensive.

536

:

Attributes.

537

:

It's something that I've enjoyed seeing,

but you can't focus on defense and

538

:

being a defensive side and not worry

about your attack with the attacking

539

:

powers that we have with Benjamin

Sesco, Louis Appenda, who both are

540

:

technically down on form this season.

541

:

The same for Chevy Simmons.

542

:

And then you've got other

players that come around.

543

:

It's not just those three.

544

:

You do have Yusuf Powson that

can score a few goals, although

545

:

they're few and far between.

546

:

Christian Baumgardner

can also do the same.

547

:

We've got Antonio Nusa, who's out

injured, can also do the same.

548

:

We've got many options, but we fail to

utilize the players that we have and

549

:

make these chances and score these goals.

550

:

Where's the old RB game style with

flair, attacking pace, and just

551

:

fearsome, striking fear into the

other team's defences when we get

552

:

the ball and the counter attack?

553

:

Where's that RB?
